Specialised Information Service Specialised Information Service for Art / arthistoricum.net

As part of the DFG programme ‘Specialised Information Services’ Heidelberg University Library operates, together with the SLUB Dresden, „arthistoricum.net – Specialised Information Service Art - Photography - Design“. Its mission includes, among other tasks, the comprehensive collection of printed and electronic media on these subject areas. The Heidelberg University Library is responsible for the main focus area ‘European art history up to 1945 and General Art Studies’.

It covers the full spectrum of European art history from the Early Christian period up to 1945, as well as art in the United States, Canada, and Australia, insofar as it was influenced by Europe. Since 1949, Heidelberg University Library has participated in the cooperative system of supra-regional literature supply funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) 

Since 2020 arthistoricum.net has also been a co-responsible partner of the NDFI4Culture-Consortium.
