Book Collection of the reading room
Approximately 60,000 volumes of humanities and social sciences literature are available for reference in the reading room of the University Library Altstadt. These volumes cannot be borrowed and can only be used on site. Scientific and medical literature can be found in the reading room of the branch library in Neuenheimer Feld.
The reading room collection is listed in its entirety in Heidi. You can find the special location code “LSA...” in Heidi in the full information for the desired title. There you will also find information on any additional copies of the title that may be available for loan.
Magazine volumes that can be borrowed are located in the reading room and can be borrowed for two weeks at the information desk in the reading room.
Daily and weekly newspapers, including the international press, can be found at the information desk in the reading room and in the newspaper display on the 3rd floor of the triplex reading room. The magazine display is also located there. The current year's issues can be viewed there.
