Information Centre Main Library (IZA)

The Information Centre in the Main Library is the first point of contact at Heidelberg University Library. We can help you find information, literature and other resources and support you with research for your studies, your academic research or your private interests.

You can contact us in person or by telephone during our service hours hours:

  • Basic information on using the library
  • Help with literature searches in the Heidelberg library catalogues (HEIDI, Digikat, etc.)
  • Bibliographical, biographical and subject-related information
  • Help with the use of electronic resources
  • Help and advice with orders for external loans (interlibrary loan)
  • Assistance in obtaining literature (especially articles) via electronic document delivery services (HEDD, Subito - documents from libraries, supra-regional document delivery services, etc.)

We prioritise personal advice at the counter, so we ask for your understanding if (especially time-consuming) enquiries cannot always be answered by telephone. However, our librarian will be happy to help you at any time by e-mail or post.
