Certificate of Discharge

For your exmatriculation you need proof that you have no obligations towards the University Library, such as loaned books or fees. The Certificate of Discharge (Entlastungsvermerk) is obtainable in the lending service of the main library or the lending service of the Neuenheim branch library. Books on the existing library account have to be presented and can be issued to a different account. It is not sufficient to present the user card in this case.

The application for exmatriculation can be found on the websites of the student administration.

If you cannot come to the Library in person, you can send all required documents, with a stamped, self-addressed envelope directly to the student administration without the discharge note. They will then ask us whether you can be discharged. Please note that exmatriculation is only possible if you have no books on loan and no outstanding fees.
