Finding and using databases
On the University Library’s YouTube channel, you’ll find a new tutorial video to help with your academic research. In around three minutes, you’ll be given an introduction to the Database Information System (DBIS), a key resource for verified academic information.
The video shows you how to access DBIS via the University Library’s website, find suitable databases for your subject area, and correctly interpret the traffic light and licensing systems. This will help you quickly identify what content is available to you and how to carry out targeted searches – for example, in the full-text database JSTOR, the bibliographic database of the Modern Language Association (MLA) or the statistics database Statista.
DBIS is the central gateway to finding reliable academic sources and publications for your studies or research.
