Zotero is a free and open-source literature management software which helps to collect, organise, annotate, cite, and share research. As such, it can substantially ease academic work.

The workshop will provide an introduction to Zotero, thereby outlining a potential workflow for research. It will also point towards some add-ons extending its functions (such as advanced note-taking or the use of AI) and address possibilities of operating Zotero along with other standalone software.

Zotero is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux with plugins available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari as well as for Word and LibreOffice. iOS and Android apps with more limited functions are also available.

Before the workshop, please install Zotero, a browser connector, and a word processor on your laptop and bring this laptop to the workshop. We will attempt to troubleshoot potential problems emerging during the installation. Please download and follow the instructions provided on the website.
