Sources concerning the history of Heidelberg University

This category contains the major historical sources as well as research documents on the history of the University of Heidelberg, which were either digitized or published online. The most significant historical evidence is surely the University’s Matriculation Register, of which the years 1386 to 1936 could be digitized, as well as the Heidelberg University Directories, which contain a list of staff for all the University’s institutions and a directory of all students with information on their place of birth, field of study and place of residence in Heidelberg. The Heidelberg Almanacs feature lists of publications by Heidelberg scholars and articles on topics concerning the University itself. Apart from digitized periodicals, relevant monographs are made available digitally online.
