Im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert war die Astronomie noch mit der Astrologie verbunden. Selbst die berühmten Astronomen Nikolaus Kopernikus, Tycho Brahe, Galileo Galilei und Johannes Kepler erstellten Horoskope.
