Codices Heidelbergenses Orientales

The Oriental collection, among them Persian manuscripts, includes 526 items. The manuscripts are indexed in an alphabetical book catalogue, a shelflist and a language list, which can be consulted in the Manuscript Reading Room (LSH).

In 2003 Heidelberg University Library started a digitization department to digitize parts of its historic collections. The Codices Heidelbergenses Orientales (Cod. Heid. Orient.) will be digitized if required.

Since June 2022, most of the oriental manuscripts stored at Heidelberg University Library can be searched via the database of oriental manuscript collections in Germany Qalamos. Here are listed – among others - shelf marks, authors, titles and previous owners of the manuscripts.
