Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

The article first deals with a broad skepticism over against any talk about God’s justice and righteousness in the face of evident injustice and cruelty across the globe. It then investigates the difficulties »natural law« has to affirm normative interconnections between God’s justice and righteousness, regularities in nature and cosmos, and political, legal and moral endeavors to establish good order among humans. All talk about natural law has to ignore the fact that natural life has to live at the expense of other life and takes on the form of robbery. It is not the dynamics of self-sustaining nature, but rather the equally ubiquitous dynamics of free and creative self-withdrawal in favor of others – dynamics evident in love, mercy and many forms of care far beyond the areas of family life – which direct our attention towards God’s justice and righteousness. In God’s Word and God’s Spirit, these powers are given to humankind.
