Abstract

In seinem einleitenden Essay diskutiert Micha Brumlik entwicklungspsychologische und meta-ethische Fragen, deren Beantwortung die große Bedeutung des Civic Learning für die dynamische Ausgestaltung demokratischen Zusammenlebens deutlich macht. Die daran anschließende, weit ausholende Abhandlung über Kinder- und Jugendrechte verbindet historische und systematische Aspekte. Ihr Hauptaugenmerk gilt den rechtlichen und politischen Rahmenbedingungen demokratischer Praxis (Beteiligung und Mitbestimmung) in den Bildungsinstitutionen. Im Anhang ist die Dokumentation eines szenischen Spiels für Schüler zu finden, das ausgewählte Artikel der UN-Kinderrechtskonvention zum Gegenstand hat; ein Beispiel für die Art und Weise, wie Schüler der Mittelstufe mit ihren Rechten bekannt gemacht werden können. Den Schluss des Bändchens bildet eine kurze Glosse über die Rolle von Bürgerstiftungen als potenzielle Förderer des demokratischen Diskurses.

Translation of abstract (English)

Micha Brumlik in his introductory essay discusses some questions of developmental psychology and meta-ethics the answer to which emphasizes the great importance of civic learning for the dynamic enhancement of democratic societies. The ensuing wide-ranging contribution by Dietrich Harth dealing with children's and young people's rights combines historical and systematic aspects. The main topic of that part is the legal and political framework for democratic experience expanded by a debate focusing on the intricate problems of establishing the learner’s rights to participate and have a say in educational issues. The subsequent documentation of a dramatic acting for students on selected articles of the UN-Convention on the Rights of the Child is an example of the way how middle school children may get familiar with their codified rights. The booklet concludes with a brief note on the role of community foundations as promoters of a genuine and efficacious democratic discourse.
