Abstract

The degeneration of Carl Rogers´ high ideals within the personal relationship in a therapy to the self-evident basic- behaviour´, has it’s roots in the scientific paradigm to which Rogers could not get sufficient distance, due to his scientific means. The materialistic human image and the dogma of empirical Falsificationism through external observation (or operationalism), have concealed the actual being of the human nature –the specific reality of human relationships– and thus the deeper meaning of interpersonal understanding. By the means of theoretical work up of Rogers´ practical approach, and with the help of Bubers´ anthropology, I am trying to point out this human dimension of reality. Considering this, it becomes obvious that, using the example of empathy, a psychtherapeutical research with scientific criteria, can not grasp the main point of the interpersonal relationship. Following, by exposing the actual method in Rogers´ therapeutical work, a few indications to a more appropriate research criteria for the human nature, are given. Hence, it is shown that the research of the process of understanding is not only of importance in the common anthropological sense; a certain objectivity can only be assured by the selfconsciousness of the researcher, and a self critical reflection in the process of understanding. Concluding, this cognition is supported by Max Schelers Theorie des Fremdverstehens´.
