Using the hitlist

  • Using the Hitlist
    Sorting Results
The hitlist is automatically sorted by relevance. Alternatively, you can sort by year or person.
Please note the results in DigiKat (1936–1961).
  • Limiting Hits
You can use the filter options to narrow down the number of results, e.g., by publication year, language, media type, subject heading, etc. Click on the plus symbol next to the relevant category to refine your search (drill-down).
  • The selected filters will be displayed above the hitlist and can be deactivated before performing further searches.

Short and complete title display

Short title display

In the Short Display on the HEIDI Tab, the key information is listed:

  • Title details, possibly with subjects (keywords), a link to the complete work (parent record), a link to the table of contents, similar titles, and more.
  • Shelf-mark and availability (see "Availability display"):
Please note that multiple copies of each title may be available. You can only view a list of all copies and their availability by clicking on the title and viewing the full information.
  • An arrow symbol indicates the location of the books in the open access areas.
  • BibTip
The "BibTip button" in the right column displays recommendations for related titles. These recommendations are generated through statistical analysis of user behavior during HEIDI searches and are intended to complement traditional subject indexing.

Complete title display

In the complete title display on the HEIDI tab, you can see:

  • Complete bibliographic details
  • List of all copies, including locations and availability, e.g., at an institute library (see "Availability display").
The location is either linked to the library’s floor plan or provides the address of the relevant institute library holding the item.
  • Note on other editions
  • QR-Code
The HEIDI catalog offers the option to transfer bibliographic information about a book (e.g., shelf mark, location) to a mobile phone via QR code. A QR reader must be installed on your mobile phone.
