Abstract

Translation of abstract (English)

In this thesis, the concept of diffractive lenses with overlapping apertures and its potential applications are investigated. The outstanding feature of these lens arrays is that the focal dimension and the focal distance can be chosen independently of each other. Scalar design methods are presented and extended to create point-shaped, ring-shaped or arbitrary complex focal arrays. Based on scalar simulations, the characteristic features are analysed and deviations from the ideal structures are quantized. The simulations of binary phase-only diffractive lenses with overlapping apertures and integrated cover slip correction are verified experimentally for two high numerical aperture lens arrays with high overlap factors. Applications like the parallel scanning microscope benefit from the latter, where a high resolution, a large field of view and a large working distance become feasible at the same time. An experimental demonstrator with 2 mm working distance and a 900 μm × 1200 μm field of view is realized, which is capable of resolving feature sizes of about 450 nm. Furthermore, the limits of the scalar design and simulation methods are compared to the results of rigorous simulations applying rigorous coupled-wave analysis. Even for high numerical apertures up to 0.9, the scalar design method still produces diffractive lens arrays with highly localised foci.
