Abstract
Die Fakultät für Physik und Astronomie produziert in regelmäßiger Folge für das Universitätsmagazin CAMPUS TV Filme über physikalische Phänomene. Die Länge der Filme ist auf jeweils 90 Sekunden (oder anderthalb Minuten) beschränkt, woraus sich der Titel der Serie 'Team anderthalb' ergibt. In dieser Folge wird die „Infrarotstrahlung“ behandelt. Infrarotstrahlung wird auch als Wärmestrahlung bezeichnet. Josef Stefan hat erkannt, wie Strahlung von der Temperatur eines Körpers abhängt. Die Grundaussage lautet: Moderne technologische Entwicklungen beruhen durchweg auf den Resultaten zweckfreier Grundlagenforschung, die zum Teil mehr als 100 Jahre zurückliegt. Kurz formuliert: Forschung braucht langen Atem.
