Enquiry and Reference Service Main Library (IZA)
During the current reconstruction we provide eight workstations with internet access for research in our online catalogues and on our website.To use our internet based services we offer 50 workstations with Internet access.-->
The catalogues and websites of the University Library and of the University are freely accessible, for further access you need a valid library card.
The laptop learning room in the historic vaults of the Library provides WLAN access for library users. Please note: Only students and staff of Heidelberg University have full internet access. A valid library card is required, too.
Using electronic information tools (online catalogue HEIDI, databases, Internet and others) is a self-service facility. To inform yourself about our databases, have a look at our Database sites.
We recommend to visit our training courses. To get help with special questions concerning the handling of our electronic information tools, please turn to the reference staff.
We provide a print and export station to get hard copies or files of your search results (databases, pages from the Internet, pdf-files). To pay hard copies you need copy-check cards which you can buy at a dispensing machine in the Information Center at the ground floor. One print costs 7,5 cent (black/white) resp. 50 cent (color). Saving files to disk is free.
- URZ-Information Service
Staff of the URZ-Information Service are on hand to give advice and assist users in the Information Centre in the Main Library at the following hours:
Mon, Tue, Thu: 8.30-12.00 and 13.00-16.00
In the other months:
Tue, Thu: 9.00-14.00

- In the Information Center Altstadt you will find a copying/printing station with a coin slot (5 Cent per copy).
- We offer a money-changing machine which changes Euro notes (5, 10 and 20 Euro) into coins of 1 or 2 Euro.
- An autoloader for your CampusCard is located in the foyer.
