The department “Manuscripts and Early Printed Books“ holds the precious collections of the University Library of Heidelberg. Among these collections are manuscripts, deeds, literary remains, incunabula (prints up to 1500), early prints up to 1700 and rare books, the Graphic Collection and other special collections.
You will find the Manuscript Reading Room (LSH) on the ground floor; please access via room 023. floor plan. The collections can be consulted, advance reservation required. Current projects are the description of our manuscript collection and the digitization of the historic collection.
